So I did the Grillin and Chillin blog hop that was hosted by Barb at BugBites411.blogspot.com. I saw a few of my favorite blogging buds and just had to check it out. Well it inspired me to do this invite today! Once you see it you may understand my crazy sense of humor. I didn't have any ants so I made my own by cutting out music notes off my Nifty Fifties cartridge and creating ants that way. And of course the innocent little bird is off the same cartridge. This was a lot of fun and I hope I can make a few of you laugh at this invite! Here it is!
Ok, so it took an hour and a half to upload these pictures, I have a few minutes to enter yet!

Lookie what I got!
My friend Lisa, at www.indymermaid.blogspot.com, sent this award my way! I know many of you have been to her site but for anyone that hasn't you are missing out. Lisa has a fantastic blog and is very talented, however more important than that, she is just such a great person and a true joy to have as a blog friend. Thank you for this award and also for being such a great inspiration Lisa!
Here are the rules for the A Thing of Beauty Award:
Must share 5 things about yourself (1 of the listed items must be something about your craft).
Here are the 5 things about myself:
1. The very first card I ever made was a birthday card for my son Dennis in August of 2009. (And he still has it).
2. I was once contacted by VH1 to audition for a reality show. The show never came to be, which is good because it was a really stupid idea. lol
3. My hair has been many colors, including pink once. (hey, it was the 80's)
4. I used to be scared to death to fly and didn't confront my fear until I was 31 years old and forced myself to do it.
5. My Grandfather worked on the nose of Abe Lincoln on Mount Rushmore.
Now I would like to pass along this award to the following bloggers (in no particular order):
1. Laurie at www.craftingwithlu.blogspot.com
Laurie, a.k.a. Lu, a.k.a. Teacher, a.k.a. dear friend. Laurie has such great crafting ideas and does beautiful projects!
2. Audrey at www.cuteandsome.blogspot.com
Audrey is a wonderful, kind and very talented lady who deserves to be rewarded with something special every day!
3. Kim at www.crazyaboutscrappin.blogspot.com
Kim has been busy working on sports themed layouts and doing such a great job with it! She is also a wonderfully sweet lady!
4. Maria at www.joyfulstamper.blogspot.com
Maria is great. Besides being very talented she is willing to help new bloggers, such as me, and always has a kind word. She also appreciates finding thrifty craft ideas!
5. Trish at www.trishandtreasure.blogspot.com
Trish has a great blog and I enjoy reading up on what she is up to and her newest projects, she is very creative!
Lisa, thank you again for this award and to the ladies I passed it on to, thank you also for being such great inspirations.
Happy weekend everyone!

Made It Myself challenge

Check out this brand new challenge by clicking above! This is a neat challenge because you can link any handmade project to it. I entered my "Ugly to Pretty" desk set I posted about last week. I know from checking out all of your blogs that you all have some fantastic creative talent so I hope to see some of your projects linked up too! Oh, and if any of you are wondering why I haven't posted a project in a week, I am working on two that I will get up here soon. (You know I work slower than a turtle in mud, I'm getting there though).

Ugly to pretty
Happy Spring! I hope eveyone had a good Mother's Day. I love Mother's Day, it's the only day of the year when I don't feel guilty for letting my family do everything. Can you relate? I didn't blog much last week because I was working on my project below. I know to many crafters this doesn't look like much work but for me it really was a big project, taking me a week to do this. It really stinks living with a disability but I think it would stink even more to just throw in the towel and let a disability live you. So while I sit here gloating in my accomplishment here is what I did this past week.
I took these five items and turned them into something pretty.
Ugly, I know. I could have just slapped a band aid on them and it would have been an improvement. And here is the finished result......
I know, right? (lol, I laugh when I hear people say that, I don't know why).
Thanks for stopping by and checking in. I will be checking in on all of you to see what you've been up to. Hopefully you have keep out of trouble but still had a fun weekend! Oh, and before I forget, I'm thinking of doing this blog candy stuff I see so many of you gals do, just as a token of my appreciation for you all following my blog. But I need your help. Can blog candy be anything craft related? Is there proper types of "blog candy" per say? I've never done this so any advise you can give me would be mucho appreciated! Take care all and I'll blog with you soon!
